Feeder Pillars

A Feeder Pillar is also known as Feeder Box, Feeder Panel, Fuse Box, Fuse Feeder Box is the most economical way of protecting your installation against short circuit currents. Mostly used by the Power Distribution Agencies to distribute power with protection and at a very affordable rate. Typically it is a cabinet for electrical equipment, mounted in the street and controlling the electrical supply to a number of houses in a neighbourhood. In India, they are often painted red in color.

A Feeder Pillar has the main incomer switch, generally a MCCB or an ACB and a number of outgoings protected by the HRC fuse. The Feeder Pillar can be designed for indoor as well as outdoor installations. The number of the outgoing set is referred to as ‘way’.  For Eg a Feeder pillar with 4 outgoing sets is referred to as a ‘4-way Feeder Piller’.
